World premiere: the ICE Box Challenge in Oslo wins the Audience Award and receives a special mention at the France Green Solutions Awards 2024-2025!<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This unprecedented environmental installation concept was created in 2007. 17 years later, this demonstration of energy efficiency, reuse, and modular, disassemblable design was carried out in Oslo: two tiny houses, one standard, and the other highly efficient and durable, were displayed outdoors for a month in mid-summer, each containing a ton of ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Result: 20% of ice remained in the ultra-robust house, compared to\u2026 ZERO in the standard house. A tangible proof that sustainable insulation truly makes a difference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is science in action. The reclaimed wood for the ultra-robust fa\u00e7ade comes from a barn dating back to 1895, while the wood for the standard pavilion comes from a construction site in Oslo at the time of the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This revolutionary project, developed with Produktif, a pioneer in design for assembly\/disassembly (DFAD) \u2014 a world-first \u2014 pushes the boundaries of responsible construction, with an innovative patented concept that extends building lifespan by ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury’s verdict: Highly replicable, the project stood out through its educational goal, i.e. to raise public awareness on sustainable construction, energy efficiency, reuse and circularity. Its bio sourced and recycled materials – as well as its flexible design \u2013 were also praised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
