playing with sunshine
What a great light in Lisbonne !
Currently we work on the renovation of an build into a brand new zero energy hotel. The facade presents no relevant architectural qualities, so we’ve decided to improve its performance and look.
For the first designs we’ve tried to use our skills on a design that is not only esthetical, but also functional. So the new facade is constituted of distinctive horizontal lines, used as sun shades, and playing with parametrical elements, a new line appears, in remembrance of the famous hills of the city.
Fuss the parametric design below seems quite awful, it allows us to draw and control the consequences of the changes applied in the sun shades. We can control the dimensions and look, but also see the implications on the natural light, sunshine, and warmth created inside the building.
So nearly in real time can we see the impact in the rooms, and choosing the design that has the greatest look and the most efficent control.
